Day 4: Cinderella

Claire didn't get the memo that today was Cinderella day. She thought it was Sleeping Beauty, part 2. We went to the dollar store to get some goods for Cinderella day, but she was so tired when we got back that she fell asleep for quite some time. We were going to go to the park, we ALMOST got there, and this is what I found.

Attempt two: She woke up at home in her stroller, so instead of getting her out, we just headed out again. We got to the park and she was asleep again. I thought that she wouldn't sleep for long, so I laid in the grass. 20 minutes later we went home and she woke up 10 minutes later.

I bought this tiara and wand for her princess attire. Looks so funny on her with her asleep. :)

Attempt three: Success!! Third time's the charm! She loved the wand and didn't really care about the crown.

Cinderella day was kind of a hard one. All she does is clean and then go to the ball. We obviously couldn't talk to mice or other rodents, so we did bubbles. You know, where she cleans the floor and there are lots of bubbles. She loved them!

Chasing bubbles.

So, once again, Cinderella goes to the ball. Since this is my version of the movie, Claire's too little and has a cold, she couldn't go to a ball.....so we bought her one. We had fun playing with the ball and having her chase it.

They also had all the princess puzzles there. I made it this far until dinner and I had to clear off the table.

Last but not least, Cinderella wouldn't be Cinderella if she didn't have her slippers. Not all slippers have to be glass. These were so warm and cozy.

Fun fun Cinderella day. Tomorrow we're going to finish off the week with Belle! Once again, I hope she's feeling better tomorrow. She's not acting quite like herself. Poor Cinderella.

Day 3: Sleeping Beauty

To preface, I'll say that I did not give my favorite disney movie justice today. It is, by far, the best princess movie of all time and I was lame sauce. I had to go to the Primary Auxiliary Meeting today in Salt Lake, so I dubbed it Sleeping Beauty day since we were going to the "castle". My castle. :) The conference was good and Claire found her prince charming. A darling little 9 mo. old boy that she kept clobbering while he let her mow him over. She's just so feisty!

I had seen this on the news, but it is sooo much cooler in real life! Look at all of those princess rooms. :)

Of course we princesses have lots of gold. We even have a gold man sounding the trumpet for us. Well, we'd like to think it was for us. Today it was anyway.

Here is us in front of our Sleeping Beauty castle.

What else do you do for sleeping beauty? Make a cake of course....or cupcakes since they're better! (Yes, that pink flower is Claire's, but it did a great job holding my bangs back!)

Poor Claire is coming down with a cold. She is sooo tired here and her nose is so runny. The poor dear.

What do you think of our cake? "Of course it will be stiffer once it's baked."

Here is our princess cake! YUM!

The little princess went to bed early. I guess she really did know that it is Sleeping Beauty day and that she needs lots of sleep! Hopefully she'll feel better in the morning! Sleep tight my little beauty!

Oh, and something that was so cute. While we were at Wal-Mart, there was a girl with two kids who stopped me to comment on how beautiful Claire is. Her little boy is 3 and Claire thought he was hilarious. She was laughing up a storm at him just smiling at her. She loves loves loves little kids...so much so that she has to plow them over whenever she can!

Day 2: Princess and the Frog

I thought that picture was appropriate to start off with because this is how happy Claire was for our Princess and the Frog day. Maybe she didn't want to be princess Tiana because she was so ornery. I think she might be teething again. Anyway, we are both wearing green since we're supposed to be froggies. :)

We went to the Monte Bean Museum on campus today. I figure there are lots of animals when you're "going down the bayou". Even though we didn't really see any amphibian's, it was really fun to go see. I was really impressed with it! I had never been before and we'll definitely have to go back when Claire doesn't cry the whole time.

The picture is a little fuzzy, but here we both are at the museum.

A hippo, of course.

A Liger. It is really beautiful!

I NEVER want to see one of these for real!

I thought this was beautiful!

This was also beautiful. Made out of different kids of butterflies.

Claire by a tusk. She couldn't be more excited as you can see.

Going down the bayou is exhausting. She fell asleep on our way over to Seven Peaks to get our season pass. We're going to be little frogs this summer and spend a lot of time in the water. :)
We're excited!!

Adventure Book: Princess Week

I've decided to do an adventure book of Claire and me while Brian is finishing up the semester and way too busy for his own good. He is rarely home and he has to give all of his time to school. Not like we haven't done this before though. Welcome to grad school. So, instead of being at home moping around with nothing to do, I came up with adventure book.

This week is Princess week. We'll do a different princess each day, take pictures of our fun times and then we're making a picture book of it at the end. I've decided to do a few weeks since there are a few left in the semester. We may even love it so much that we will do more. Who knows. Plus, I feel like I get into a non-creative rut with being a mom sometimes, so this keeps things fun and exciting. It also helps us get out of the house once in a while.

Today, to kick start the week, was Snow White day. I used to think this movie was boring, but as I've watched clips throughout the day, I do think it's rather cute. So what do you think of when Snow White is said? I thought of cleaning, working, washing, kissing, dwarfs, sleeping, apple. I thought this was appropriate to clean since my house was a WRECK and it smelled kinda funny. So, we cleaned this morning and did laundry all day. Now my house is a mess again, but at least it was clean at one time. Sigh. Thus is the life of a mother.

Every princess looks frightful when they wake up, right? Well, these two do! Getting ready for cleaning!
Beginning of Cleaning.

Watching Snow White on youtube. :) This lasted about 2 minutes.

I think Snow White has a Huggies car in the 2011 version. It kept her occupied while I was folding laundry.

We had our very own Snow White apple. Non-poisonous of course. :) She loved chewing on the stem. We gave her a small piece and she just looked at us funny.

Of course no princess fairytale would be complete without her Prince Charming. I think we have a pretty good one at that. (Maybe she knew that kiss was meant for me.) I can handle princess week with a Prince Charming kiss at the end of each day!

Brian got me flowers last Thursday, just because. I love him. He does a good job at making me feel like a princess!
To finish off the day, we watched The Washing Song and then Claire had a bath and then fell asleep (yay!). I will have prince charming wake her up with a kiss in the morning. For now she needs her princess rest.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring! Unfortunately I realized that almost every princess cleans, so that will probably be done on a daily basis. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Chairs please!

I want this chair!
It's so comfy, so cute, and such a good reading chair. I want it. I just don't want to spend $350.00 on it. My efforts to find one less cute and way less expensive have failed, so I'll just lust after this one and dream of having something in the very distant future.

Blissful Wednesday

Claire just took a 3 hour nap. HALLELUJAH!! It's been a while. I could have cleaned my house. I could have re-attempted my hair bow making. I could have watched a movie. Instead, I sat in Claire's room, on the rocker and read a book while I listened to the silence of her sleeping. An occasional stir and sigh from the crib, but lost in my fictional book of the 1910's = happiness. After 3 hours of me time, she woke up with a crazy head of bed hair, a stink eye (from sleeping funny), and a cheesy smile. I love her! I love today.

Claire's Poor Eye and More Pictures

It just makes me sad. Also worried. I'm a mother, of course I worry. We have been the the doctor twice and it isn't anything serious, just a burst blood vessel. Happens to a lot of people, which I already knew, but since Claire can't tell me if it hurts or not, I worry. Here is her poor little eye:

Besides her eye looking terrible, we love this picture. She looks like a puppy dog with that sock in her mouth. She crawled around with it in her mouth for a good 30 minutes.

New favorite mess maker with movies.

She also loves to go under the piano and push on the pedals.

Last week, my mom came down for a hair appointment. It was cancelled while she was driving down, which gave us more Grandma time and, I'm not gonna lie, I was glad to have the extra play time. We went to the park and took Claire swinging for the first time. I'm also trying to get better at doing pictures on 'manual'. I don't have lots of practice time, so I have lots to learn and lots of practicing to do. Thank goodness it's getting nicer so I can go out with Claire more.

Discovering grass for the first time. We took her sock off, she would touch the ground and pick her foot up right away. Silly girl.

Haha, I love this one. What a chubster!
