So, I'm not the mushy type by any means, but I just have to tell a little bit about how wonderful Brian is. On Thursday the strangest thing happened. So out of the ordinary and out of character. He woke up early!!! That is actually a monumental thing at our house. Usually he gets consumed in the comfort of our bed and I have to drag him out. Instead, I woke up to, "Honey, I made waffles for you. " I love him. He's been waking up early ever since. It's weird....but I like it.
On Friday I also threw a date night. IT WAS SOOO FUN! We have a jar that we pick dates out of, and we have to do our best at making them close to free. So, I chose "Learn to Dance". Great, Brian HATES dancing. So, to make this a little more fun, I strung lights all around our living room, got a disco ball, made cupcakes, got his favorite dinner, got my prom dress and made him put on a suit and had prom in our living room. I even made paper crowns and announced ourselves as prom king and queen and took our "prom pictures". Sound corney? Well, it was, but we actually had a blast and even Brian enjoyed dancing with me for a while.
Then, that wonderful husband took me to the nicklecade on Saturday afternoon. As you know Brian loves games, but this time our main objective was to get as many tickets as possible to get a cool toy. Well, we were there for about 3 hours, spent $15.00, hit the jackpot on every game we played, and got over 3,050 tickets. That was a lot for us since we usually leave with 20 tickets and a stupid spider ring or something. Anyway, for 3,000 tickets, we won this little beauty for our children that we don't have yet.

Yes, we set it up and had a blast playing with it when we got home. :) Sorry future children, we like toys. Well, we won this for basically $15.00 and the cheapest one we found was around $25.00, so we're excited. We had a blast and I think Brian is the most wonderful thing in the whole world. There's my bragging about Brian. :)
Post transition..............
Now some thoughts that are totally unrelated to the rest of my post. I've been thinking that I've been really critical, or perhaps negative lately, so I've made some new goals. I'm already an opinionated person and then I'm married to an even more opinionated person, so it makes me really opinionated. It's funny, the things that I feel so strongly about really aren't any of my business anyway.
- Goal #1: Mind my own business. For real, does it really matter to me what people are buying or if they choose public school or home school for their kids? No. That's not my decision and I have no idea why I get so worked up over these things. I'll just stick to what's best for us and so far it's made me much more happy to be with myself. I'm still totally willing to listen to everyone and what they think, but I'm going to do just that: listen. I'll give my 2 cents when it's asked for, but other than that, I'm just going to practice listening.
- Goal #2: I'm going to be more patient with other people, but especially myself. I think this will help me be less emotional. I felt so much better going to church yesterday and not caring if someone needed me to sub last minute or in 3 months.
- Goal #3: Be positive. I'm just going to be positive all the time.....at least try to be. :) I really haven't tried to be on the negative side, and I surely don't like it when (for example) I read all these status' on facebook that are all about how horrible their day, week, month, life has been. Never fun to read. So, next time you see me, I'm going to be happy all the time. :)
- Goal #4: Give more service: I used to be alright at this goal, but for some reason I have REALLY slacked since I got married. I feel like my service doesn't leave our house sometimes, or I'm not very willing to do what is required of me. So, yes, I will make dinner for anyone who needs it. I'll clean your house, sweep/mop your floors, read to your kids, babysit, and clean your bathroom. I hate doing the dishes....but I'll throw that in too. :)
Anyway, these are my new goals for right now. Hopefully they're exactly what I need.
As another side note. I found a new favorite Shampoo. Dove. Yum! It smells so good! I want to wash my hair half the day and smell it the other half. Love it!
