Happy Birthday, Claire!!

I CANNOT believe that she's one already! She was so tiny. So snuggly. So new. Now she's already one year old and I love her more and more every day. Here she is with her gigantic teddy bear birthday present.

.

Unfortunately I can't really blog right now because we're in the middle of moving, but it will be a good day! Happy 1st birthday!

Late Night Laughing

So, this is just about the latest thing that Brian and I can't get enough of. Two words: Jimmy Fallon. Oh. My. Gosh! He is hilarious! I started watching the show sometime last week because I was too lazy to get my bottom into bed and I was laughing so hard that the tears soon came. He did thank you notes to the most hilarious things, the most ridiculous skits, he laughs at himself, pros and cons (of course) and the do not read list. This is bad news when it comes to sleeping because I just want to stay up way to late to see the Late Show. Ridiculous, but for now, I love you Jimmy Fallon!

Family Visitors

We have had so much fun with the Anderson family the past two weeks. Grandma Anderson came for a visit and Claire soaked up all the attention that she could. We did lots of shopping, eating good food, visiting great grandparents, and just having a good time. Diane definitely treated us way too well. We love having family in town! Claire was sooo tired before church and she fell asleep on Grandma's lap. She must have been super duper tired because she never falls asleep like that. It was pretty darn cute!

Her new thing. She just leans against the nearest pillow, bag, whatever and lays there.

Saturday, before the cousins came, we threw a baby shower for our dear friend, Kayli. She got some really adorable clothes! We love her and we can't wait to meet her little girl in October. We love little girls around here!

The past couple days we have had Brian's brother, Jeff, and his family staying with us. They're moving to Dallas, TX so we were so excited to have them drop in for a couple of days. They left about 30 minutes ago and my house is WAY TOO QUIET! I feel like Claire is now so bored. I am definitely less busy and I'm just wanting them to come back and play some more. That's all we did...PLAY! Claire soaked it all up from all three kids. Simon would just run away from Claire, but she was so happy to follow. Scott and Iris would take turns blowing raspberries on her tummy and she laid there happy. It was the cutest thing!

Claire and Simon eating string cheese.
Fighting over the beach ball.
More cheese. Haha. I love this one.
Simon got REALLY carried away with the chocolate pudding! He was an absolute mess!!!
Haha, you can see how much Claire loves Simon and how much Simon doesn't love Claire right here. :)
We miss the family! Let's do it again very very soon!!! Claire needs more cousins to play with!

Hiatis

Sorry that I've been gone for so long. Things have be ca....razy around here!! We've really enjoyed all of the company that we've had and we'll be sad when it's over. Grandma Anderson stayed for almost a week last week and we loved having her. We went shopping a lot and Claire got some adorable new clothes and SHOES!!! Shoes are hard to come by for her and I'm so glad she got new ones that are church appropriate! Thank you Grandma Anderson! We just had a wonderful time. Diane even got to go to one of my Stella and Dot parties and I'm glad she enjoyed it. (The new fall line came out and I think I'm in love again! GORGEOUS!) Right now Brian's brother and his family are all here for a couple days and we love them! Claire is in heaven with 3 other kids to play with all the time. She and little Simon follow each other around all the time. They both think that the other is pretty cool. We love cousins!

In other news, we will be moving down the street in just a couple weeks. I will definitely miss central air and my dishwasher, but we'll have a yard, no sharing of laundry facilities, and more of our own space. I'm excited! If I don't post for a little bit (brothers), then please forgive me. I'm trying to keep up on everything that's happening. I hope everyone's summer is lovely!

Just Yesterday

Yesterday had an interesting turn of events. We decided that we would go to my mom's, have Claire run through the sprinklers, go out to dinner, and see Transformers.

Claire was DARLING running through the sprinklers. It's this big beach ball that shoots water out of the sides. She had the funniest faces when she'd get wet. Seriously, so cute! Good thing I recorded it all and took pictures, right?

Brian and I enjoyed our dinner at Teppanyaki! We never go out to dinner because it's so expensive, but it was so nice and fun! We also went and saw Transformers. IT. WAS. AWESOME! Oh my goodness! I loved it! I was so excited, sad, tense, you name the emotion- that was me. Optimus is the COOLEST! I would like him to be in my life right about now. It's a definite must see!

However, after the movie, we discovered that our car was unlocked. I swear I locked it, but I guess I didn't. We always lock our car. Well, after going back to my mom's, searching and searching and searching some more, we couldn't find my cell phone or my point and shoot camera with all of that adorable video of Claire in the sprinklers. I just sobbed. I had them both in the console because I didn't take my purse (diaper bag) with me on our date. They weren't in plain sight, and we were parked under a street light. Really? Do people really do that? Brian kept trying to cheer me up by saying that they probably have a horrible life if they're resorting to stealing. It didn't cheer me up. I just want them to get their comeuppance. I hate them. (Yes, I'm a terrible person and I guess I can't forgive people right away, but I'm not feeling that forgiving about it yet). Who cares about the phone. We were going to get rid of them soon anyway, but I want my video's back! Ugh. I'm so frustrated! Anyway, kind of ruined the night. This is where knowing Prime would be ideal. He would go and find my stuff, chop off their arms like Ammon did in the BoM and I'd have my stuff back. That would be nice!

Anyway, I hope you all had a happy 4th. I guess we get to all enjoy our freedoms, right?

You Know You're a Mom When....

You blog about poop. This morning was one of those mornings. Claire was happy as a clam. I should have known. Everything pointed to trouble. She was content in the corner. By herself. Hadn't made a peep. I turned the corner and there it was....everywhere. All over her, the floor, the brush, stuffed animal, pillow case...everywhere. I just stuck her in the tub and proceeded with the dirty duty. It was awful. It was, literally, up to her eyes. Gross. Sorry for being so graphic; however, I believe that the graphicness of the story is what justifies me if I ever go a little overboard. Overboard in ice cream. Overboard in jewelry. Overboard in clothes. You know why? Because I have to clean up poop from all over my house, daughter and myself. Head to toe. What did this do for my day? Made me super productive. Go figure. My house is almost clean, I have spray painted a little kitchen set I got for Christmas when I was 1 (it's going to be Claire's b-day present), watered my little garden, ate a strawberry from my little plant, sanitized Claire's bottles, and almost sold our couch. Sigh. Maybe Claire can figure out a way to make me productive that doesn't involve a gross mess.

However, here is the little princess herself:

Right after the fiasco this morning. She loves playing dress up with that purse!

She can't get enough of my wallet. I've lost my costco card several times.

This cute picture is from when we were in LA. She misses Ethan so much!

Squished nose

This bear has revolutionized bedtime. She just rolls over, snuggles and falls asleep. Love that bear!

Sunscreen hair. On our way to Seven Peaks.

Did I mention she loves stuffed animals!

I think she looks like a toddler in these pictures. She's so big and ADORABLE if I may say so. :)

These two paintings are the ones we got in Old Town in San Diego! We love them!!!
