Park City Vacation

I'm getting caught up on the blog out of request. My sweet mother in law checks my blog everyday (always disappointed since I don't blog everyday) and wants to know why I haven't updated. Well...two kids and blogging all the time doesn't mix as well as I would like them to. I have been tempted to stay up late and blog about Park City, but then my bed calls my name and I've been lost in an instant of hitting my pillow.

We had a WONDERFUL time! Claire couldn't get enough of playing with her cousins. As I write this, she ran in the kitchen, "LOOK! Simon! Iris!" They played hard all week long and I'm sure Claire would like to invite them to be our neighbors and see them every day. I wish we all lived closer to each other. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

Playing games- a family favorite

Scott had his birthday up there. I went to the store last minute to buy him this toy. Let's just say he was less than enthused about it and it got confiscated by the younger kids immediately after this picture was taken. I don't think he even opened it. Haha. At least we didn't get the, "I don't' want to hurt your feelings, but..." like grandma did about his birthday cake. :)

Lightning McQueen was a huge hit!

Playing with Mr. Potatohead

YouTubing possibly the most annoying songs/cartoons on the planet. I don't know how my Sis-in-law stands them. We left those in park city buried deep deep beneath everything unholy.

Someone got a little spoiled being held my mommy all the time. :)

New Swimsuit, handsome man!

Swimming with the cousins! It was actually kind of chilly in the afternoon, so we only went swimming once.

ZOO TIME! We went to the zoo while the men were out hiking on their "mancation". Claire was basically a monster the entire time, but I thought it was pretty fun overall.

CHEESE!

What a champ! He slept the whole time at the zoo and the entire time on every shopping trip we did. He's so good to me!

"Icesceeem?" Don't take it away or she'll go BAZERK!

Mancation

The kids thought the little stream outside of the hotel was the best thing since sliced bread. Throwing rocks into water is a new favorite for Claire and you can't pry her greedy little rock hands away.

Look at that saggy, muddy bootay!

Claire fell in head first and did NOT like it one bit. She screamed until I took out the camera and of course she had to say, "Cheese!"

This was so darn cute! Claire loved to snuggle into our bed after her bath and pi's were on. I would crawl up and smoosh the covers by her and she'd laugh super hard.

Melts my heart.

Also, another favorite moment. She was so cute with Brian. She would lay on him and repeat every word. He called me in and it when like this:
Brian: "Stacy!"
Claire: "SeeSee!"
Brian: "Honey
Claire: "Huneeeee!"
Brian: "Stacy!"
Claire: "SeeSee!"
Brian: "Honey
Claire: "Huneeeee!"
Then they'd both laugh and snuggle.

We had such a wonderful time with Brian's family and we really wish we got to see them more often. Claire is having cousin withdrawals and I was sure hoping that Iris would inspire some potty training.

3 Months

I'm trying to play catch up over here. All of a sudden things have been happening that I need to blog about.

Well, Jared is three months old. It's so crazy how time flies by when you have kids! They grow up way too fast. For this little guy, all I can really say is that I'm completely  smitten with him. He has the cutest crooked smile and some pretty long top hair that we comb over in an Elder Bednar kind of way. He has started sleeping through the night consistently and is starting to giggle when I tickle him. He still loves to sleep with mommy whenever he gets the chance and I don't mind it every once in a while. I prefer the co-sleeping to occur during nap time instead of my real sleep time. He is getting some chubs going and I'm excited to finally get him chunked out! He LOVES his baths! If he is at all fussy, a bath will calm him right down and he usually breaks into lots of smiles too. He doesn't like being in the carseat if it's not moving. If we stop he will start to scream, but he'll stop as soon as we start driving again. When he gets angry he REALLY gets angry. He goes from perfectly content to a very shrill scream and he looks adorable when he does it. I usually just laugh when he does it. Since I don't give pacifiers he has learned that his fingers/entire fist is usually a good sucker when mom isn't ready to feed him. I dare say that he is the cutest little boy ever. Then again, I'm biased.

We blessed him on June 10th. It was a beautiful blessing and we had a lot of family and friends there. I was so glad that we got a 4 generation picture with Brian's side. I must say that Jared looked incredibly handsome in his blessing outfit.

I know I was tired, but I promise I didn't fall asleep mid picture.

Handsome boy!

 The family of 4!

Smiling for his great aunt Mari

Claire had so much fun with all of her cousins there!

Had to get the BFF picture in there. Love these girls!

Beaver Trip

Kind of sounds like, by the title, that I went and visited a beaver yesterday. Not so. We went to surprise my dear, sweet grandmother in Beaver. I haven't seen her since the week before Jared was born. She found out that she has an inoperable brain tumor the week she was here and ended up not being able to see him in the hospital and she left before I could get a chance to take him to see her as well.

So, we FINALLY made it down there. We waited to make sure Claire was well since Claire's sickness was the last thing she needed. She is doing wonderful despite her illness and is hanging in there with everything she's got. She is quite an amazing woman and I admire her bravery through this horrible diagnosis.

It was so good to see her. We love her so much!

Claire is saying, "Hi MEOW!" She's not exactly strangling her like it looks. She sure loved that kitty. She even gave it hugs.

Jared was asleep in Grandma's arms and actually slept there for quite some time. She's still got that touch.

We were all exhausted from a long Father's Day and an early morning road trip. Thank goodness for that "Bo" bear!

More on the wonderful vacation later!

The Terrible Two's Begin

Here she is in all of her nail polish glory:

We were ALL in time out the other day. All of us except Jared. Poor little guy doesn't even get to have a treat for being good. Me? I left the nail polish in an accessible bag. Brian was watching Claire and didn't "watch" her for a couple of minutes and/or make sure the room was Claire-proof. Claire was in trouble for making an enormous mess.

She ate fingernail polish (not toxic we've found out), got it all over the carpet (as you can see in the picture) and the couch, and obviously decided to be an artist all over her body. I was coming home from a Dr. Appt. when Brian called to tell me. He said, "after I found out she was going to be ok I was fine." After I found out she was going to be ok I was upset. He asked me why.

It's because I had to clean it up.

Isn't that always how it goes? Mom's get the lovelier side of things. Here are a couple of redeeming pictures for the kiddos.

Hmmm.....most of them are sleeping pictures. I guess you know my favorite time of day.

"Hey Baby"

To preface, I guiltily returned to my maternity pants today. No, it's not that my normal pants don't fit, cause they do. It's because they are an adorable pair of purple corduroy that I have suddenly missed.

As I was walking back from the Provo Bakery just now, I received a "HEY BABY!!" shout from a nearby truck as I was using the crosswalk. My reply? A loud burst of laughter.

Why laughter you ask?

I was not crossing the street with just myself and my maternity jeans. I had one child, chocolate smeared all over the cheeks, hands still grasping the half eaten doughnut, asleep from our morning adventure, and one foot strangely placed on the tray in front of her. Baby number 2 is strapped to my body with a blanket rapped around the bottom half of him with the rest blowing in the wind around my knees. His hair is sprinkled with the remains of my delicious glazed doughnut - a true sign of the fat kid inside of me. What else? The box of doughnuts is lying on top of the stroller in front of me for easy access and a heavenly breakfast.

All while wearing my maternity pants.

You're right, stranger. Nothing could be sexier.

Sleepy Toast

I laugh Every. Single. Time.

So worn out. Stay tuned for the terror Claire. She's hitting her terrible two's and getting into nail polish. A picture to come.
