So, my parents went home and three weeks later Brian's mom came into town. Guess what?! She got sick too. I swear. I'm going to start lysoling people at the front door. Kill all germs before they even come in. Luckily Grandma bounced back a lot faster than my parents did and she was really only down for one day. Poor thing. She sounded horrible too.
We're starting off here with Hailey's actual birthday. Since we sort of celebrated with my parents and we were going to celebrate with pie while Diane was here, the only thing we did on Hailey's actual birthday was open her present. I always watch their first bath videos on the birthdays, but that's all by myself. It reminds me of how tiny they were and how much they've learned. I'm so grateful for video cameras.
Anyway, these pics aren't the best, but it's what we got.
Happy b-day, squish! I still can't believe you're one!
Popsicles on a hot April day. Cleaning out the car for Grandma to come (as if the results last).
Grandma, Claire, and I went to see the new Cinderella movie. Diane and I thought it was adorable. Claire said, "that movie was SSSSUUUPPPER long". She had a hard time sitting still until the fairy godmother came into play. From them on she was hooked. I wanted to snuggle with her in the movie, but she accused me that I was making her too sweaty.
Add spiderman!
Easter!
I don't know if Brian ever moved from this position during all of conference.
Looking at the eggs they just found. Claire was so excited that the Easter Bunny came to our house.
Ok, so I felt so bad that I wasn't making Hailey a cake for her first birthday. I always put a little bit of my heart into their cakes (at least for me), but with 5 birthdays with cupcakes over a 2 1/2 week span, the mere thought of cake made me want to lose my lunch. I opted for pie instead and I'm SO glad we did just based on how Hailey looked at the end. She loved it!
Don't look too close. They're owls. I realize that they look completely ridiculous, but there's only so much you I can do with a pie.
Singing Happy b-day.
First bite
She likes it!
Fist fulls!
Such a ham!
They liked it too although they just look sooooo excited.
I asked her if she wanted more and she nodded. After her third piece and her still nodding, I said "No". This was the reaction I got...
She's like a squishy chocolate monster! Maybe one of my favorite pictures.
I can't believe I didn't take more pictures with Grandma! She was just so sick and a big chunk of our time was spent watching conference. On of my favorite moments from the trip is when we went to Cheesecake Factory. The kids were at the babysitters and Diane was so excited for her lettuce wraps. She ordered them, they came to the table, and she was disappointed that it wasn't what she thought. She had them box it and she reordered her avocado egg rolls. Again, she was excited. She ate one and said, " I don't know if this was it either". We all teased her when it came time to order the "cheesecake with the red swirls". We thought we were gonna have to order and box up a few slices before we got it right. :)
As always, time went way too fast, we didn't get to do all we wanted, and we're ready for another visit. Actually, Claire is ready to go to both Grandma's houses this time.
