It was Brian's Birthday on December 14th and he turned the grand old age of 26! I tried to convince him that his birthday is totally separate from Christmas; however, it was totally useless since he talked me into having him open 3 Christmas presents on his birthday and the December birthday party was mixed in with the family Christmas party. Blast! Maybe next year?

Our Christmas at home was super awesome! We had our 'Anderson Christmas' on December 20th. I woke Brian up at 5:30 only because I couldn't wait anymore. It was like I was 5 years old again! We had a really great Christmas! We were both so excited and played with our new toys all morning! My parents also got me a sewing machine that I was super psyched about!

We went to Ohio for Christmas and had a blast! Jeff and Mary were there with our cute nephew and niece. We had so much fun playing with their kids since we don't have kids yet (and we like that.) We need to have fun being aunts and uncles first, right! :) We also had the Anderson family annual relay race and Brian and I won the race! It was pretty surprising that Brian and Jeff made it since they both have bad knees. We were pretty excited though. We had another race the next week and we came in second place. Our cousins beat us....but only by a little bit.

We had a great time shopping and walking through Cincinnati. I had never been to the city, but it was pretty neat. We just walked through the skywalk and went to the top of the Carew Tower to look over the city.

We really had a wonderful vacation during Christmas! It was so nice to get out of Provo without work and school and spend time with the family. We played more games than I ever have in a lifetime and watched more movies in one week than I usually do in a month. It was really nice and relaxing!

Well, now we're home and getting settled in the daily routine of work and school. I haven't had a ton of fun going back to work, but I guess it's nice to be back to normal life. It is good to be home though. We hope everyone had a really great holiday season!!

I've recently discovered that Brian isn't very good at being patient. He always tells me that we should open a present everyday so that we can spread the Christmas cheer throughout all of December instead of just on one day. Yup, I caved in one day and let him open ONE present. He was pretty excited to play San Juan and since I always get beat by his family, I thought I'd start practicing playing new games before Christmas. However, it was kind of a bad mistake. Ever since then, he begs and pleads to spread out Christmas cheer and since it's now December...it's even worse! :) Luckily he will give up sooner or later and we still have some presents under our tree!

This was a whole new thing for me! I haven't cut my hair since I was 12 years old and in 7th grade. Brian kept telling me that my hair was getting too long, and I got more and more frustrated with not being able to do anything with it, so I chopped it all off. Ok, maybe not all of it, but it's still pretty short to me. I like it a TON better and it makes my head feel about 35 pounds lighter.

I've finally started a blog! I have no idea how to do this really, but I figure that it's a good way for the family to stay in touch. My sister in law's cute blog inspired me to do this, so I hope it goes well. I guess to start out I'll tell what's going on in our lives right now.

Brian is still plugging away at the semester waiting for it to be Christmas break so we can get out of Provo and go to Ohio! He is doing his Chemistry research. He has tests, homework, and then finals to look forward to the next few weeks so I really can't blame him for never wanting to get out of bed in the morning. However, it is also his birthday on the 14th! He's going to be 26....kinda weird for me, but I'm super excited! He has almost beaten Okami, which he loves and is always so excited to play, but I don't know if he'll be able to find the time in the upcoming weeks. Men and their video games.... :)

I am just working from home and trying to find things to pass the time. Since Brian spends such long hours at the lab everyday I've taken up toll painting so that I can have more Christmas decorations. I am EXTREMELY excited for Christmas that I think my bones might just burst with Christmas excitement! So, now that we've had the tree up for a month, lights up, presents under the tree, and more decorations around the house Christmas still seems so far away. I am also trying to learn Spanish...slowly. I'm not very good at it and I need to be more diligent, but I am really enjoying it so far. Hopefully I'll be able to understand and speak a little by the summer.
