SHE SMILES!!!...and the boys went camping...

There's proof that this girl can do more than just look adorable all the time! FINALLY! I feel like poor little Hailey, coming in at #3, has gotten significantly less pictures taken of her first few weeks. I know I got sleep smiles with the other two, but with her we've just sat back and enjoyed them instead of snapping them on the camera. However, this girl is a little tough to get a smile out of unless she's well fed and has just woken up. Gosh, this little squish just melts me.

This is a shot of our first attempt. If you look closely....very closely....you can see her cheek muscle tensing and that's about it.

This weekend was the father - son campout. I was so excited for the boys to go, mostly because Jared LOVES to be outside and we really don't go outside much these days. Hailey still inhales too much wind (because Texas has a never ending supply of wind) and soon it will be too hot. Don't get me started on Texas outside the front door. I'm hoping that living in a house will change my view of Texas (cross my fingers). Anyway, they had a BLAST and I'm sure Jared could camp with Dad every single weekend.

While they were gone, I was excited for our girls night filled with pedicures, dressing up, and having a princess ball. Hailey had other plans that consisted of being held and screaming. We did get our pedi's in at least.

Claire's super happy about her blue nails and Hailey's purple toenails.

This is as far as our "dressing up" went...and the best picture we could get with the self-timer before Hailey really wailed. It's probably ok....I do NOT fit into that prom dress 7 weeks postpartum.

Claire is sweet enough that coloring in her makeup and Cinderella dress was magical enough.

AND....because they're cute. Here's a few more.....

Jared fell asleep in his beloved hot wheels this morning.

Now, I love it when Hailey sleeps on me. It's probably the best snuggling I get and I love every second of it. (I also love how skinny a baby and a blanket makes me look. It's just too bad wearing blankets isn't in fashion, right!?)  Also, Claire got stuck in that bucket. She cracks me up.

Mother's Day Pictures

All I really wanted to do today is take pictures of the adorable people that made this day special for me as a mother. I love them so much it baffles me sometimes. How can I possibly love someone so much? How are they all so adorable? I feel so lucky to have them in my life and so lucky to be their mom. I'm so grateful that they love me even though I am not the perfect mom.

And....for the many faces of Claire...

Taking pictures is boring business to a 3 year old, I guess. I did end up getting one adorable full shot of the little lady.

Jared...that's another story. This was his "CHEESE" picture...and then he got distracted.

"Look Jared, a bag of Cars..."
"Cars?".....

"CAARRRRSSSS!"

The best one I could get of the two of them. Sigh.

And Miss Hailey in her 6 week old chub and glory. The perfect subject.
(way to go Uncle Jason for the adorable outfit and Grandma for the adorable blanket!)

I am also incredibly grateful for these two wonderful women in my life. Of course, my mother, who is pretty much the coolest mom on the face of the earth. I want to be more like her always and strive to be just as amazing to my kids as she was to me. I miss her and hate living so far away from my best friend. Also, my mother-in-law, who raised my near perfect husband who I love to chat with and spend time with every time she comes. I'm so grateful to have such amazing mom's in my life to look up to.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Adjusting to Three

Hello Bloggisphere...I am still alive. Go figure. Life is fun and adorable, but also a little bit of crazy and "where has the time gone"! Seriously, I think I'm lost in a world between trying to sleep and trying to be ready. I'm not sure what's in between, but it sure is time consuming. The kids are awake before I am...whenever that may be. I usually wake up to the sound of "MORE, PLEASE!" Which sometimes comes out of Jared's mouth as "Ba Bo Bearsh," meaning "more bears please". I'll then crawl out of bed, trying not to sleep the co-sleeping Hailey up, and emerge from my black hole of lousy nights sleep and put on another episode of Care Bears. Somewhere between 10 and 3, if I'm lucky, I get ready and look less like a dead mommy.

In all of my messy houseness and not-ready-ness, I'm trying to soak up tiny Hailey. To be honest, I've found it more difficult to do so this time around. I'm trying to keep the house clean and epically failing, trying to entertain two older kids and making them feel loved and do it all while holding a newborn. It doesn't seem like a lot, but gosh....it takes time. I feel like she's been in our family forever and not just a mere 5 1/2 weeks. That she is still that young baffles me. I feel like I should be fitting into my dream jeans and the fact that I don't is a little (ok...more like VERY) depressing to me. Still working on getting my mind wrapped around the fact that 5 weeks ago I had a new baby.

We have loved expanding our family! It's the most wonderful thing and with each one our family feels even more complete. I love how much Jared and Claire adore Hailey. They are always very concerned about making her happy when she is sad.

Now, photo dump.
Look at that curly hair. Just a couple weeks old

Easter Egg dying

Her first Easter bunny.

This kid is in love with his pillow. He literally takes it everywhere we go. Adorable, yet super annoying (to take it to the car every time).

Happy ONE MONTH old, Hailey!

Claire loves to brush her hair.

Baha!

Ok, so I saw this cute baby-on-books picture idea. This is the best I could get. She hated it too much. I even tried when she was sleeping and she wouldn't have any of it!

This is what waking up the baby looks like.

I took this yesterday, May 5th. I love how chubby she's gotten since she got home from the hospital (from her fever admittance).
