Claire's Big News!

Hi everyone, Claire just wanted you to know that she is going to be a....

That's right! She is going to be a big sister! She's going to be the best and most fun big sister out there! We are so excited. I'm 9 1/2 weeks right now and due MARCH 17th! Happy St. Patrick's Day for our family! Of course I'll go a week late and it will fall on no significant day. I'm hoping for the 16th because that is the same birthday as: my brother Trevor, Grandma James, old piano teacher Sister Thornwall, Nick Homer. I guess the 19th would be good too because it's Rachel (Jolley) Forsgren's and Bethany (Matheson) Moore's. March is a good month!

So far I'm feeling just as good as I did with Claire. My doctor told me he's shooting for twins because I have great pregnancies. I think I would die. I don't think I have the energy for twins. I'm just tired right now and don't ever want pasta. Sad story. Goodbye pasta....I will miss you! I will eat you again when you taste lovely.

Claire's other big news is that she went camping for the first time. Sort of.....we camped in my parents backyard just to see how she would do. She took over the entire tent by sleeping horizontally, but other than that we had a blast! Next time I'll take pictures. :)

Welcome Back, Life!

I am officially welcoming myself back to normal life! I have been out of commission this month and it feels so incredible to start normal routines and normal life again. On August 6th, one of my very best friends got married! It was such a beautiful day and I don't think her smile could have gotten any bigger. We had such a wonderful time watching her get married to her best friend and laugh the day away. Although I already miss her being just a few blocks away, I am so excited for her and can't wait until she's back from her honeymoon so we can chat about married life! Congratulations Kara!!!

My in laws came into town that very same wedding day (yes, a very busy day). I spent the next few days hanging out with my mother in law and it was just what the doctor ordered! I have been going going going nonstop for the last 3 weeks and it was so nice to just sit down, relax and watch a few movies. How many exactly? Well, we did 10 movies in 3 days. Yeah, more movies than I've ever watched in one week or perhaps even one month! It was a blast! I think it's safe to say that I'm a little movied out, but I SOOO needed it!

We got to enjoy ourselves at Chuck-E-Cheese with Claire for FHE. I'm not sure that she really loved the rides, but we enjoyed watching her.

On Wednesday we headed up to PARK CITY! One of my favorite places in Utah! Of course we did some outlet shopping (which is so much more fun when you're not super poor) and got to eat out at Grub Steak that night. Dumb name, but it was rather yummy!!! Claire loved the french fries! Other favorite part? Diane (mother in law) acted like she had bed bugs all over her the entire time we were in the hotel. Don't ask me why, but it was hilarious! If I scratched part of my body, she would suddenly have imaginary bugs all over that same spot. Haha. Oh dear.

How could I even leave this out??? I know it's not Halloween yet, but I couldn't pass this up!! It is soooooooo darling!!!! She is going to be a BEE this year! Of course she'll have black shirt underneath and she won't be so ornery when we're going TRICK OR TREATING! AH! I just can't wait! I love halloween!!! The nice thing about this costume is that she can even wear it for 2-3 years if I really want her to.

We also got some good Great Grandma time in!

Of course I think her grandpa enjoys feeding her! She has been a teething MONSTER all week, but grandpa defended her sweetness to the end.

Whew! That was our week! Now things are back to normal and I couldn't be more thrilled! No parties to throw, no leaving the house. Now I can make my menu, get my house put together, spray for those pesky spiders that haunt my dreams and enjoy the summer. I'll be honest, for the past three weeks I have DESPERATELY wanted summer to be over. Shocking, I know! It's just been way too busy! However, I think I'm going to enjoy the last few weeks of it and soak up the sunshine now that I don't have to be anywhere else.

I've also been HORRIBLE at being me the last couple months. I haven't read my scriptures in who knows how long and my prayers are sometimes sparse as well too! I am going to challenge myself to read the Book of Mormon before Christmas and write down my daily blessings and hand of the Lord in my life. I've done this before and it has done wonders for me! So, here I am, making it public so that I have a little more responsibility to do it. I'm hoping that I'll find myself again in doing it and I'm excited to start!

She's ONE and we're DONE!!!

I'm sooooo glad we're finally done moving! I've found a newfound hatred of moving. WHERE DID WE GET ALL THIS CRAP???????? I hear that it gets worse with every kid, but my goodness! Next time we move we'll just get rid of all of it and leave with nothing (not really, but it sounds easier). We packed everything up on Friday and hauled it three blocks down into our cute house that we're renting. It's SOOOO nice to be in a house and not have to share laundry. Amazing! It's not decorated yet, so pictures will come later when I don't look like such a slob.

In the midst of the moving craziness, we had Claire's birthday on Saturday and then a bridal shower for my friend on Tuesday and THEN I had a Stella and Dot party last night at a friends house. Crazy, but LOTS and LOTS of fun!

Claire is now one. My. Goodness. It's so weird to ever think that she wasn't a part of our family. She is such a wonderful little bundle of happiness! She's adorable and is now trying out to be the world's best sharer. She shares the grossest things. Brian will eat her food that she offers after she's sucked on it. Yuck. I just put it back in her mouth or wait til she throws it on the floor. There ain't no way I'm sticking that in my mouth! :)

Her cake eating was HILARIOUS! I'm so glad I did chocolate cake! Really, it just looked like she had gobs of poop all over her legs, but since we know it's cake, it was cute. :) Here is some proof!

Out of the mouth of Claire

Claire was asking me about Hailey nursing. She was sad to find out that Hailey wasn't nursing anymore. She said, "Well, when I am a mommy can you give my babies milk?" Uh...nope. Can't do that. "Why mom?" Well, my milk will be gone (thank goodness) and you'll have to do it. "Oh, well, I want a big, big, BIG family. TWELVE babies! But I don't want the littlest baby to ever get big because I do NOT want one hundred babies." March 2015
Claire: Daddy, do you stink? Brian: Why do you say that? Claire: Because I can smell you. 6/18/14
Claire walked out of her room and this is what ensued: Daddy: "Claire, get back to bed." Claire: "But Daddy, my bed is being crazy!" (We try hard not to laugh). Daddy: "What?" Claire: "My bed is being crazy!!!" He went back, she tangled her blanket so her feet were getting cold. 5/15/2014
Claire asked her sunbeam teacher what "this" was, pointing to something on her chest. She thought she was talking about the pattern on her dress. Claire said, "No, no! These. They are for milk for babies." 5/2014
Eating corn on the cob for dinner, Claire turned to me and asked, "Mommy, are you going to eat some of this YUUUUMMMMYYY corn?" 5/2014
"Mommy, can you do this for me?" She hands me my eyelash curler and I proceed to curl her eyelashes. She bats her eyes in the mirror and says, "There. That's better." For the record...I have never done this, so she didn't learn it from me. 1/28/14
I was doing Claire's hair , combing through it. "Mommy, stop brushing my hair, you're making me crazy." 1/28/14
Claire has a VERY hard time going #2 in the toilet. She will hold it for days and days, so she ends up sitting on the toilet for hours sometimes. This week, she had been in there for a good two hours (and never went). Anyway, during that time she called me in several times, "MOMMY!!!! Come here!!!" And then would tell me nothing. So, after what seemed like the billionth, "MOMMY come here!" shouting, I went in to find her with the ENTIRE roll of toilet paper collected in a heap in her arms. I looked at her and gasped in frustration. I had just changed that roll! Brand new roll. Think of all that! She looked at me, giggled, and said, "Mommy...hehe....I sneezed...hehe." 1/28/14
We had our first ice storm here in Texas. I took Claire to Costco and let her walk on the ice. "Mom, I need to put on my ice skates". "Claire, do you have ice skates?" "No mom, I don't." Good point though sweetheart!
Claire always wakes me up telling me that the sun is awake. The other day, she came in, told me the sun was awake once more and then told me that she wanted some candy. I informed her that we didn't have any, but she said, "Mom, all we have to do is say Trick-or-treat!"
We went camping and I asked if Claire had fun. Claire: "I love camping, but Jared was naughty. We should leave him home".
Me: "Claire, why are you out of bed?" Claire: "Because of this..." She starts moving as if she'll pee her pants. Me: What? Claire: "Because I have the wiggles."
While at the mall bathroom, "MOMMY! YOU DID IT! YOU PEED!" For everyone to hear.
We're still trying to potty train Claire and have her poop in the potty! She says she does it, but can't seem to have it happen and will hold it for days (which is very frustrating). In an effort to get the ball rolling, I said, "Claire! Let's both push. 1...2...3...push!" At that point I did a fake push and she quickly exclaimed, "MOMMY! Don't poop in your pannies!" 7/12/13
Jared was crying and wandering around the house this morning. He popped his head in the bathroom where Claire and I were, and started to cry. Claire said, "Oh Jared, stop whining". 7/3/13
Brian and I were talking about the frustrating expenses of moving. At one point I said (about our debt), "It's all my fault." Claire came to the rescue and said, "NO! It's MY fault! My fault....and Jared's!"
This morning Claire woke up at 5 am screaming, "I WANT A COOKIE!!!!!" I went in, she repeated her sentiments. I promised her a cookie and she went back to sleep. When she got out of bed at 10:30, she jumped into my arms and said, "Where's my cookie?"
